Development of Thermal Spraying Technologies Application in Iron and Steel Industry

Since Shanghai Baoshou introduced the JP5000 supersonic flame spraying system of American TAFA company into the Chinese steel industry for the first time in the early 1990s, more than ten years have passed, and the application of thermal spraying technology in the Chinese steel industry has been greatly developed. At the same time, the relevant application technologies are becoming more and more mature. As of December 2007, the number of JP5000 and JP8000 supersonic flame spraying systems in service directly providing coating services for the Chinese steel industry has reached 19 sets. The annual economic benefits are as high as hundreds of millions of RMB.

With the support of Praxair Surface Technology Co., Ltd. in the United States, Advanced Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. provides customers with whole-process services including spraying equipment, materials and technical support for spraying processes. The market share in China's steel industry is as high as 90%.
