The 5th AMS Surface Engineering Scholarship Awards Ceremony

    At 14:00 on April 29, 2009, the 5th AMS Surface Engineering Scholarship Award Ceremony of School of Materials Science and Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology was held in the lecture hall on the second floor of Shaw Building.

      

Li Zhigang, General Manager of Advanced Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd., Song Xijian, Secretary-General of China Thermal Spray Cooperative Group, Wang Hua, Director of Beijing Office of Advanced Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd., Zou Bingsuo, Dean of the School of Materials, Han Xiao, Deputy Secretary of the Branch Party Committee, and Han Xiao, Deputy Secretary of the Metal and Professor Li Shukui, Director of the Department of Inorganic Nonmetals, and Wang Quansheng, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Department of Materials Processing, attended the award ceremony.

  On behalf of the teachers and students of the School of Materials, Professor Wang Quansheng thanked AMS for its strong support to the School of Materials over the past five years. Encourage the teachers and students present to cherish the honor and repay the society, the enterprise and the college with practical actions. He also stated that the college is willing to cooperate with Advanced Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. in various fields such as scientific research and education.

Li Zhigang, general manager of Advanced Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd., affirmed the gratifying achievements of the cooperation between Advanced Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. and the School of Materials Science and Technology of Beijing Institute of Technology in recent years, and thanked the school for sending batches of outstanding talents to the company. He also said that Advanced Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. is in a period of rapid development, not only has not been affected by the financial crisis, but has reached a new high. The company will, as always, set up an award fund in the School of Materials.

Two young backbone teachers, Fan Qunbo and Liu Yanbo, won the AMS Surface Engineering Scholarship, three outstanding graduate students won the AMS Surface Engineering Excellent Graduate Scholarship, three graduate students won the AMS Academic Star Scholarship, and ten outstanding undergraduates won the AMS Surface Engineering Award Outstanding Undergraduate Scholarship, 20 students received AMS surface engineering bursary. The AMS Surface Engineering Scholarship Awards Ceremony ended successfully in a harmonious and friendly atmosphere.
